You got it, I traded in my glass of wine for a glass of seltzer water. Oh, I added pineapple juice if I wanted to get fancy with it. :-)
But nonetheless, you are probably wondering why I decided to become a Sober Sally for 5 Months. Well, here it goes...
At the end of 2015, I decided to give up alcohol as my New Year’s resolution. After having a rough end of the year, going through a break up and the beginning to an end of a bittersweet friendship, I needed to take a step back and gain some clarity in some of the choices and decisions I had made in my life.
My cleanse started January 1st and ended June 1st. Throughout this cleanse I was challenged emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually. I endured some heartache and pain, ups and downs, but through it all I had Jesus Christ by my side and the support of my friends and family every step of the way. For that, I am forever grateful!
So, I guess you are wondering what did you get out of this cleanse? Because 5 months is a long time hunnie.
Well, here are the five things that I've learned:
Everything requires time.
There is power in prayer. You can do all things through Jesus Christ.
You can make clear decisions & process things without the relying on alcohol
Sobriety is hard, but attainable with good self-control.
What you put in your body, is what you get out your body. Once you remove the toxins from your body, you can have a clear vision of what your goals are and how to attain them.
